Yohaann Jafrani obtained his Bachelors-degree in Life Science in 2018 from St. Xavier’s Autonomous College, Mumbai, India. In 2018 he enrolled in a Master of Molecular Biology program at The University of Queensland, Australia. During the course of his Master’s degree he undertook various projects that helped him build his scientific background. During his second semester in 2019 he completed a project investigating the effect of TUSC3 and MAGT1 SVVS mutants on the stability of a mutant protein Torsin A delta E at AIBN. During his third semester in 2019 he completed a project in identifying the potential of exosomal miRNAs as bio-marker for ovarian cancer progression at UQCCR.
In 2020 he joined the Faulkner Lab and worked on identifying translated pseudogene transcripts under the supervision of Dr Seth Cheetham and Prof Geoff Faulkner.
Yohaann Jafrani obtained a UQ Graduate School Scholarship (UQGSS) and Frank Clair Scholarship (Mater Research) in 2020 to pursue PhD. He is currently working on a project titled “Tracing Epigenetic Lineages of Single Cells using Adenine Methylases” in the Faulkner lab under the guidance of Dr Seth Cheetham and Prof Geoff Faulkner.
